I guess that for every 50 school Classics trips to Greece there is only one to Turkey.
But in Turkey there is Troy, essential visiting for students of Homer; Ephesus, a better-preserved Greek city than any in Greece; Aphrodisias - which I have not seen, but hear is excellent. Pergamon's great altar of Zeus is now in Berlin (well worth a visit) but the remains of the city, with a theatre clinging onto the side of a steep cliff, is impressive.
